The Deepest Source of Motivation

Forget the carrot and stick. Motivation and innovation come from a desire to help.

susanna oreskovic‘s insight:

Ask yourself the question WHY. Why are you doing your job? Why are you putting in the hours? Why are you doing what you do? Answer that and you have your core motivators, your true value that will lead you to your happiness and life satisfaction. The “why” is the motivation. Leaders who know this will have more engaged people. If you know your “why” you will be happier and more successful. It’s not what motivates you but why do you do it that is the source of motivation. Ask why.

Having Ideas Versus Having a Vision

See on Scoop.itSociety, Life and Creativity

In the past decade, firms have been praised for ideas. Experts have celebrated the power of brainstorming and idea-generation techniques. Eureka light bulbs have populated the covers of many books.

susanna oreskovic‘s insight:

What the world needs is ideas in action. What are the qualities, traits, behaviours of visionary leaders? How do we cultivate these much needed leaders who are able to take these ideas generated in the divergent thinking stage and converge them into a vision and that can inspire their people to move forward and take action. Then only can we see the full spectrum of creativity working. Do you know someone who is a visionary leader? What makes them so?

Hello world!

Welcome to my blog. Here you will find my musings on our contemporary world as it relates the ideas of creativity, the structures of our society, our future vision and the grand adventure this is sure to be. I am an observer of human thought and behaviour and am curious to see how we use our creative nature to make our world the way it is or dream of what we want it to be. We have lives to live, jobs to work, dreams to fulfil and lessons to learn. We are physical humans in this world with a limitless imagination. How far will imagination take us? How do our ideas transform into our physical world? How does this work, where does it come from? What can we learn by tuning into the infinite creativity within all of us and how can we put it all together to create our society and world? Through art, popular culture and current thought on business leadership and organizational behaviour, we can explore ideas of creativity and how this plays out in our world. As they say it’s not the destination that counts. So stick around for the journey, it’s sure to be an adventurous one!
